Arghyadip Das wins the 1st Queen Gambit Rapid Chess Tournament

Kolkata: International Master Arghyadip Das wins the inaugural Queen’s Gambit Open Rapid Chess Tournament on tie break as he beat Suvrajit Saha. Arghyadip and Suvrajit have scored 8 out of possible 9 points. He received a cheque of rupees 15,000 and a trophy from Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua.

The current National SubJunior Champion, FM Mitrabha Guha finished 3rd with 7.5 Points.

There were total 212 participants in this two days which was conducted by Chesspert.com in association with SLOBA at St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata.

The Chief Guest were Grand Master Dibyendu Barua, Father Raphel Hyde, Rector and ice Principal of St. Lawrence High School, Rahul Mukherjee, SLOBA, gave away the prizes. Jt. Secretaries of Bengal Chess Association Sudiptangshu Roy Choudhury and Asit Baran Choudhury were also present to grace the occasion.
