Kolkata: The Kolkata derby drama gets a new element on Tuesday as Kingfisher East Bengal has created another controversy ahead of the historic clash of Indian football. This time it’s the match ticket which has sparked the controversies. The match ticket which the East Bengal club has printed for the derby match at Siliguri, wrote Mohun Bagan as “MMB”, while wrote their club name as “Kingfisher East Bengal”. McDowell has no longer been a part of the oldest football club in India and still tagging the name of the former sponsor’s name on the match ticket has been a serious issue.

The controversy is not only the sponsor’s name been wrongly mentioned and that abbreviated form, but also the wrong logo of the Green and Maroon brigade which is used in the match ticket.

When www.xtratime.in asked East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar, about the matter, he said, “It is not an intentional mistake and can happen with anyone. Mohun Bagan too hosted the pre-match press conference of the AFC Cup with an AFC Champions League backdrop. But these are unintentionally done as anyone can understand.”
Though the Mariners have already spoken to the I-League CEO Sunanda Dhar and detailed their grievances. The CEO has asked them to send the letter first and then to decide their verdict.
Mohun Bagan although has taken this issue very seriously and sent the letter and copy of the punishment they received for the Kolkata derby played on 11th November 2011 at the Salt Lake Stadium where they printed Green and Maroon tickets and got punished by The AIFF as the then arch rivals appealed against it at the parent body of Indian football.

East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar is also claiming that Mohun Bagan has already collected their quota of 4,500 tickets despite all the buzz. Mohun Bagan Secretary Anjan Mitra told www.xtratime.in, “The East Bengal officials didn’t even show us the proof copy of the tickets. Had they shown that, we could have easily rectified them the mistakes.”
