Kolkata: Just a day after the mega Kolkata derby in which Mohun Bagan defeated their arch-rivals East Bengal 1-0 at the Salt Lake Stadium yesterday, the youngsters on the other hand failed to  repeat the result.

In the U18 Youth League, the Green and Maroon brigade failed to put the ball at the back of the net against a 9 man East Bengal team, after 2 players from the Red and Gold brigade were shown the marching orders as the score remained 0-0 after the end of 90 minutes at the Mohun Bagan club ground.

In the late end of the first half, Sourav Das was awarded the red card in the 43rd minute while in the second half Manoj Mohammed was shown the marching orders.

East Bengal coach Ranjan Chowdhury said, “If so many red cards are shown to the young lads, then their concentration are bound to fall”

While Mohun Bagan coach Jo Paul Ancheri  said, “Due to inexperience of the players, we failed to defeat a 9-man East Bengal team”
