Kolkata:Mohun Bagan will take on Maziya Sports and Recreation Club of Maldives in their first home match of the AFC Cup at the Guwahati Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium on Wednesday. Having lost their ACL qualifying playoffs against Shandong Luneng 6-0 Mohun Bagan will now play in the AFC Cup.

Sanjoy Sen said that he is absolutely unaware of the team. “I don’t know much about the team. For the first 10-15 minutes I will go for a slow and steady approach. Then I will attack” said the Green and Maroon Gaffer. The match is scheduled to start from 7pm. Mohun Bagan is right now at the top of the table in the I-League. Maziya lost to Bengaluru FC 2-1 last year when they came to India.
Maziya Sports and Recreation are one of Maldives most successful sides. They have won the Maldivian FA Charity Shield last year.They are quite regular in the AFC Cup. With the ranks of Sony Norde and Katsumi Yusa in their team Sanjoy Sen is hopeful of some positive results. ”AFC Cup is very important to me. I am not thinking about home or away. We just need to take the chances.” He added.
Meanwhile Mohun Bagan will play with their new kit in this match. On Tuesday they did a photo shoot with the new kit at the Stadium.
