Kolkata: After the completion of the ISL draft, Mehtab Hossain visited the East Bengal club to meet the club officials and then said “I want to retire with the East Bengal jersey.”

“I didn’t win the I-League so I congratulate the coach and the new recruits and want them to win the the I-League at any cost” said Mehtab.

The confusion begins when IM Vijayan’s son-in-law Abdul Adil who was favoured by the East Bengal coach Khalid Jamil. The coach of the red and gold brigade Jamil reportedly told that he liked Adil and would put forward his name to the club officials.

However when www.xtratime.in spoke to IM Vijayan, he said “My son-in-law has already been released. The officials had made it clear that they won’t be signing him.”

When visiting Kerala, the duo of Alvito D’Cunha and Sashti Duley selected a few young players with the likes of Jobi Justin and Mirshad. Adil too was sent to East Bengal by Vijayan who under the supervision of I-league winning Coach Khalid Jamil practiced at the East Bengal club ground. However things didn’t go too well as he was released from the club.

Syrian foreigner, Mahmoud Al Amnah who didn’t attend the morning practice session, joined the practice session in the afternoon. It can be said that Amnah enjoyed the company of the coach as he earlier played under Jamil in Aizawl FC last season.

The two other foreigners Plaza, Mitchel are yet to arrive however Jamil thinks it won’t be a problem as they are undergoing fitness training. Defender Gurwinder Singh joined practice today.

The Kolkata giants are unwell to buy any new defender as they have confidence on Luis Barreto and Dibyendu Sarkar for the CFL. The practice session will not be held at Kalyani but will be held at the club ground has been confirmed by Khalid Jamil.

On the other hand, Abhishek Das and Denson Devdas joined the practice for Mohun Bagan who was unsold at the ISL draft.

“No one selected me in the ISL draft, so I want to prove myself by working hard and playing well for Mohun Bagan” said Abhishek Das after practice session.

“I am back to Mohun Bagan after 2015. Not getting a team in the ISL is now past for me. I want to concentrate and play better for Mohun Bagan” said Denson Devdas.
