Xtra Time Web Desk : Current Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi will miss yet another Ligue 1 clash, this time against arch rivals Lyon as part of his COVID-19 recovery.

The 34 year old superstar tested positive for COVID on January 2 along with several other PSG players and since then was in isolation in his country, Argentina. The 7 time Ballon d'Or winner however returned to Paris after he tested negative on January 6 and since then has been on recovery.

Opening up about Messi's recovery, his club PSG in an official statement stated, "Lionel Messi will continue his post-COVID individual protocol in the coming days."

Apart from Messi, his teammates Angel Di Maria, Julian Draxler, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Layvin Kurzawa and Danilo Pereira had all tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently in isolation.

Apart from the above, there has also been speculations around Mauricio Pochettino's tenure as the PSG manager. As per several reports, the French club is in talks with Zinedine Zidane to replace the Argentine as their manager if they fail to win the Champions League this season.

However, the Paris club under Pochettino are currently at the top of Ligue 1 with 46 points in 19 games, 10 ahead of Olympique de Marseille who currently are in the second place.
