Kolkata:
Kolkata heavyweight Kingfisher East Bengal is following the top European Clubs as the Red and Gold side is now scouting young talents from all over India with the experienced eyes of  East Bengal Football School of Excellence Head Coach Ranjan Chowdhury. The highly experienced academy coach has produced outstanding results in last twelve months as the team ended as Runners-up in the U19 I-League. Thirty four teams from the different corners of the country participated in the competition, where around nineteen teams were from residential academies like TFA, Mohun Bagan, Minerva and FC Pune City.

Academy Head Coach Ranjan Chowdhury already visited states like Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram and Punjab to find some young talents. Right now he is in Pune for personal reasons. But once he returns, he will travel from one district of West Bengal to another. Ranjan told www.xtratime.in ,”Our academy boys have done remarkably well this season. This time we will scout 10 more talents to take the count to 23 for the forthcoming season, as ten boys have already been promoted to the senior squads.”

Ranjan seemed proud of his academy kids, as he said, “As many as five academy players have made to the national team for the U19 AFC Asia Cup qualifiers. It shows that the efforts are not going in vain. The process will be maintained in the forthcoming season as well.”
