Internet Desk: The Indian team made MS Dhoni’s 300th ODI memorable when they comfortably defeated the island hosts Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 168 runs. Chasing a mammoth target of 376 runs, the Lankans bundled up for just 207 runs, thereby giving the visitors a 4-0 lead. India has already won the five-match ODI series and would be looking to inflict a whitewash in the last ODI.

Batting first India amassed 375 owing to two double tons from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, while MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey added runs in the later part of the game.

Angelo Mathews was the highest scorer for his side after he made 70 runs while Milinda Siriwardana being the second highest with 39 runs. The rest of the batsman hardly scored any, thereby piled up to such a low total.

The Indian bowlers were quite effective in this game. Debutant Shardul Thakur who made his debut and that too by wearing the No.10 jersey which was once worn by the great Sachin Tendulkar picked up a wicket. Axar Patel too scalped a wicket while Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav bagged two wickets each. Skipper Kohli too bowled 2 overs but was unsuccessful in picking any wickets.

As for the next match and the last ODI of this series, India will be adamant to ensure a whitewash just like they did in the recently concluded Test series.
