XtraTime Desk: Six-hitting sensation and Indian Premier League side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player Chris Lynn was forced to leave Eden Park during Australia’s trans-Tasman tri-series final against New Zealand after dislocating his right shoulder today. Though, he hopes to be fit in time for the IPL which is set to start from April.

In a devastating sight for fans of Australian cricket, Lynn suffered the blow after an awkward fall during the ninth over of the Black Caps’ innings on Wednesday evening.

Fielding at mid-wicket, Lynn sprinted to his left to stop a ball and reached across his body with his right arm before appearing to jar it on the turf.

Australia’s medical staff inspected the damage and escorted Lynn from the field, with the batsman clutching his right arm in pain.

It was later confirmed that Lynn had popped his right shoulder out. While medical staff were able to put it back in place, he will remain off the field for the remainder of the innings.

Australia physiotherapist Alex Kountouris confirmed Lynn won’t take part in PSL this season. “His shoulder was able to be put back into place at the ground and he was consequently sent for X-Rays which revealed no major bone injury. At this stage Chris will not travel to the Pakistan Super League in Dubai,” Kountouris said in a statement.

“He will return to Brisbane to undergo further scans and assessment and from there we will have a better understanding of the ongoing management, along with the return to play timeframes.”

He was sent for scans after the incident and didn’t bat later in the match.
