Roger Federer’s tennis player boy band returns with another guaranteed hit

Internet Desk: Tennis great Roger Federer keeps his promise with his boy band. The 18-time Grand Slam champion from Switzerland, veteran German tennis star Tommy Haas and rising Bulgarian Grigor recently recorded a number “Hard To Say I’m Sorry,” from the classic 80’s song from American rock group Chicago. The three of them recorded the song during the Australian Open in Januray. Federer posted a video on his twitter handle.

Federer released the world debut of himself, Grigor Dimitrov and Tommy Haas taking a second crack at singing “Hard To Say I’m Sorry,” the classic ‘80s song from American rock group Chicago, during an on-court interview at the BNP Paribas Open on Thursday. He then posted the video to his Twitter account shortly after.

The new song is a follow-up to their initial song, which they sang during the Australian Open in January. World renowned record producer and musician David Foster, had accompanied the group again on piano.

Looking more comfortable as a man band, the trio’s vocal range has improved noticeably over the past two months. They even upped the flavor of the song by including a cameo appearance from former World No.1 tennis-star Novak Djokovic.

“I actually didn’t know the lyrics very well, so we were reading on the iPhone. And next thing you know, it’s like, this is too funny not to put it on social media,” said Federer about their first video. “So we put it out there. People had a blast over it, laughed at us, and I thought it was great.

“As we regrouped here, we thought we could do it again, but this time kind of on a playback, making the boys actually sound nice and not like cats and dogs singing, like in Australia,” he added. “Now it sounds somewhat okay. It’s still so bad, yet I think it’s actually so good.”
