Mohun Bagan to be a part of another historic moment as, Spanish football legend Carles Puyol will hand over the 1st ticket of 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup to Mrs, Gouri Bhaduri, the descendant of Shibdas Bhaduri, who was the captain of the historic 1911 team.

No doubt, it will be a huge moment for the football culture of the historic club which made a significant contribution in India’s freedom fighting movement. It was Mohun Bagan Assistant Secretary Mr.Srinjoy Bose who nominated and proposed her name for the initiative when the organizers wanted his help to get someone of such tradition to glorify the moment.

The moment www.xtratime.in spoke to Mrs Gouri Bhaduri, her voice was choked in emotion as she said, “My heart, my soul, my life everything is surrounded by Mohun Bagan. I can’t express how much happy I am. I am just a normal citizen but it was my greatest fortune to get married in this family which has such a great heritage. I’m overwhelmed. Today, whatever honour I get, whatever limelight our family gets, are all because of that great man who led the Mohun Bagan side to the pages of history. It’s a huge honour to get the first ticket of FIFA U17 World Cup”

Mohun Bagan Assistant Secretary Srinjoy Bose told XtraTime, “Indian football is incomplete without Mohun Bagan. Our club has been the reason for a lot of glories. This is an immensely proud moment.”

As per the U17 World Cup organizers, Puyol will arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi around 5pm in the evening and will directly be taken to the event where he will hand over the first ticket at 19:11pm. Mrs. Gouri Bhaduri too will be taken too New Delhi on that day.
