Internet Desk : Atletico de Kolkata’s marquee footballer Helder Postiga has signed for Portuguese side Rio Ave on a six-month contract. The 33 years old ex-Valencia player has earlier played with Portugese sides Porto and Sporting Lisbon.
Meanwhile the Kolkata franchise have extended it’s contracts with Ian Hume, Sameehg Doutie and Ofentse Nato.
Canadian Ian Hume has been one of the most consistent players in the ISL second edition. He netted 11 goals in the recently concluded ISL season with the Kolkata outfit. Atletico lost to eventual winners Chennaiyin FC in the semifinal. Hume was also a part of Kerala Blasters in the inaugural ISL. He led Kerala into the final .
Sameehg Doutie has also extended his stay with Atletico De Kolkata. The 26 year old South African has impressed everyone with his skill in the ISL. Doutie has joined Atletico from SuperSport United. The young midfielder has made a mark with six assists and three goals in his 12 appearances.
This is the third season for Ofense Nato with the Kolkata based club. The versatile midfielder also had a decent performance in the defence.
Mean Atletico de Kolkata coach Antinio Lopez Habas is all set to join FC Pune City in the ISL . Habas is likely to be appointed the coach of FC Pune City . The Hrithik Roshan co owned club finished seventh in the ISL under the guidance of David Platt. Habas Led Kolkata to their maiden ISL title in the opening season. If rumours are to be believed the Kolkata franchise was interested in retaining Habas but the ex-Bolivia coach has demanded an exorbitant amount which have influenced the ATK officials to think otherwise .
