Kolkata:
The players draft of the ISL 2017 has produced some interesting signings, but the star Indian players, who made the headlines apart from Eugeneson Lyngdoh and Anas Edathodika, spoke to www.xtratime.in football correspondent Suman Chakravorty to share their excitements. Here is what they feel:

Pritam Kotal (Delhi Dynamos): As you know, I’m a professional footballer and as a professional I had to go for the best deal which I did. It’s never easy to leave your home city but that’s how it is. I’m thankful to Delhi for choosing me. I would be giving my best to Delhi to win the title. At the same time, I want to thank everyone at Mohun Bagan with the way they supported me in the last few years. Even today they wished me luck for the future and this love will forever me there at my heart. Our CTO Tathagata Mukherjee knows me since the Indian Arrows days and he made a great team. And yes, as you mentioned, it will be tough to confront Debjit(Majumder), as we are childhood friends, but on the field we won’t leave each other an inch.

Mehtab Hossain (Jamshedpur FC): It’s a great feeling to get the opportunity to play under Steve Coppell. I’m glad that the coach heaped praise for me in the press conference. I’m honoured. It will be an emotional moment to play alongside the likes of Subrata & Ashim and also players like Souvik and the others. It will be great to share the dressing room with the old mates. The intention will definitely be to win the title. I’m lucky to get this opportunity to play with such good players again.

Jackichand Singh (Kerala Blasters): It will be fun to play alongside players like Milan Singh, and other national team players like Sandesh, Rino, Vineeth and Lalruatthara. I have always dreamt of playing in front of that Kochi crowd, because they are the best fans in the ISL and I’m looking forward to it. The new coach is a Manchester United legend and trained players like Rooney, Giggs and Ronaldo, so it will be a great learning experience for me.

Subrata Paul (Jamshedpur FC): It’s a great feeling to be back at TATA. My intention will be to win the title. We have some great players and I’m raring to play with them.

Robin Singh (ATK): I have always said that Ashley Westwood is my favourite coach and it will be great to work with him again. The connection with Kolkata has always been special. I will give my best to help my team.

Souvik Chakraborty (Jamshedpur FC): It will be a dream to play alongside Mehtab da on the midfield. He has been a legend. The other players of the team is also fantastic. It will be great to get Anas bhai back again in the same team. The best part of our team is that we have as many as six players from Bengal, which is amazing.
