Rafique’s goal in the dying minutes of the final played at Mumbai helped Atletico de Kolkata become the champions. Kerala Blasters coach Steve Coppell will be banking on Md Rafique to score a goal against Atletico de Kolkata in Kochi on Sunday. The East Bengal footballer scored an important goal in the penalty shootout in the semi final leg 2 against Delhi Dynamos. The lanky striker played 9 matches this season for Blasters. Talking about the final on Sunday, a shy Rafique said, “I will play the same way. There will be nothing special for me.” Asked to comment about his team, Rafique reckon, “We do not have to prove anyone. We are a good side and are looking to win the title.” Blasters will have a huge advantage playing at home. The Tuskers has won their last six matches played at home. They will look to stretch their home record by winning against Atletico de Kolkata on Sunday in the ISL final. “Yes we will have a huge advantage playing at home. The supporters here cheer you throughout the 90 minutes.” Rafique will be up against the likes of Kingshuk Debnath, Pritam Kotal and Pranoy Halder. “We will not be friends for 90 minutes tomorrow,” is what Rafique have to say about his opponent players.
