XtraTime Web Desk: FC Goa thrashed defending champions Chennaiyin FC 3-1 to climb top of the league table.It was just 12th minute when Goa got their first goal as Lenny Rodrigues played the ball in from the right and Edu Bedia stroke it into the corner from the centre of the box.
Goa dominated the early proceedings which were rewarded with a goal. Chennaiyin applied itself better in the last fifteen minutes with Nelson coming close to the equalizer.
Out of nothing Goa got the second in the 53rd minute and it’s that man, Corominas. A simple ball from the right and Chennaiyin defence is caught napping and allowed Coro the simple task of tapping the ball into the net.
In the 80th minute Mourtada got his first goal in Indian football. The centre-back loped a header into the net after Coro flicks the ball into his path.
Eli Sabia finally managed to pull one back from a corner kick on his return to Marina Arena but it was too late to comeback in the game.
