Kolkata: Robbie Keane has undoubtedly been one of the biggest signings of the ISL 2017/18 season. The prolific Irish goalscorer has still maintained his lethal form and his four goals off the four pre-season games speak volumes about the shape he is in at the moment. The ATK central forward happreciated former BFC midfielder and his present team mate Eugeneson Lyngdoh.
In a press conference the ATK forward heaped huge praise for ATK midfielder Eugeneson Lyngdoh and Hitesh Sharma, as he said, “It’s a good mixture of experienced and young players. Eugene is a fantastic players. Hitesh (Sharma) is a very good player. There are so many good players. But Eugene is someone whom I liked a lot. He is very much European in his style, good on both his feet.”

Keane has been famous for his trademark ‘somersault’ celebrations over the years and he said, “If the Indian football fans want to see my celebration I will do my trademark celebration for sure. But for that, I have to score first.”

Keane also revealed why he took such a decision to come in India and to join ATK. He stated, “If you have someone you have a relation with and have played with in the past, of course that usually comes as a big factor. Of course Teddy was a huge factor for me to come here and to join ATK. Now I’m ready for it and looking forward to it.”

Keane also expressed his personal goal in the press conference, as he said, “I never set targets for me to score goals. Of course I’m a goalscorer and that’s the only thing which I know. I am very lucky in my career to score many goals. I’m looking to the exact same thing here in India.”
