There might be a invisible rivalry going on between I-League and ISL, as the two leagues will be running simultaneously for the first time this season. The Kolkata giants previously thought of playing the cash-rich ISL on their own terms, which was later turned down by the organizers for different reasons. The Kolkata heavyweights also announced to go for a ‘fight’ against the franchise based league.

Despite all those things, Mohun Bagan is about to become the first club to loan out a player to an ISL club. India U23 National Team and Mohun Bagan right full-back Sarthak Golui is all set to join FC Pune City on a season-long loan. Sarthak has been one of the best young talents of the country right now and had made some extremely positive impressions in the AFC Cup games.

Mohun Bagan will not get the services of either Pritam Kotal or Prabir Das this season as they have already joined their respective ISL sides Delhi Dynamos and Atletico de Kolkata. Sarthak was no doubt the man the Mariners were relying on heavily. Now it is to see how the Mohun Bagan officials control the damage of sending him on loan.
