XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team’s star pacer Ishant Sharma is currently in England to play County cricket for the preparation ahead of the England tour. Sharma made a memorable debut for Sussex as he picked five wickets in the match against Warwickshire.

Currently two Sussex players Chris Jordan and Jofra Archer are currently in India for their Indian Premier League stint and Ishant has started his journey for Sussex with a bang. The Delhi pacer bagged 3 and 2 wickets respectively in two innings as the match was ended in a draw.

Sussex posted glimpses of Ishant’s performance on Twitter, with the caption: “Five wickets for @ImIshant on his @CountyChamp debut! Highlights from day four of our season opener vs. Warwickshire are available now. #gosbts”

The lanky pacer is likely to play five matches for Sussex in the County Championship and beside that he will also feature in all eight group-stage games in the One-Day Cup.

Beside Ishant, Indian top order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is also a part of the County championship in the ongoing season as he is playing for Yorkshire. The Board is also backing the players’ decision to prepare well ahead of the England tour. This is the reason why the board has also allowed Virat Kohli to play County cricket after IPL and for that he will miss a Test match against Afghanistan which will be played from June 14 in Bengaluru.

Kohli has so far had a terrible time in Tests in England scoring just 134 runs in five matches at an average of 13.40.
