Ishant Sharma continues his dominant show in County cricket

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team’s star pacer Ishant Sharma has continued his good show in County cricket for Sussex. He made a dream debut against Warwickshire with a five-wicket haul and now he displayed his batting skills in the second game against Leicestershire.

The lanky pacer from Delhi who is playing his 120th first class game scored his maiden fifty against Leicestershire tomorrow.  He played a gem of a knock of 66 runs from 141 deliveries.

On Friday evening when he came to bat at no.9 his team’s score was 240 for 7.  In the remainder of time he was unbeaten at the crease with Sussex wicket-keeper batsman Michael Burgess as they reached 254/7 at the end of days play.

The next day they both batted sensibly and shared a partnership of 153 runs for the 8th wicket.   Burgess went on to score a hundred, on the other hand the lanky pacer reached his first half century in first class cricket.

After a confident batting show Ishant took two wickets for Sussex to put his side on a strong position. His victims included former England opener Michael Carberry. Leicestershire closed the second day’s play at 112 for 2 in reply to Sussex’s first innings total of 438/8 declared.
