Xtra time Web Desk: Everything doesn’t seem to go smoothly in the Mumbai Indians camp. Reports suggest that Hardik Pandya's appointment as the new franchise captain wasn't well-received by everyone expect the former captain, Rohit Sharma. With two consecutive losses in the Indian Premier League 2024 campaign, tensions seem to be escalating.

A video circulating on social media raises questions about the relationship between Hardik and MI bowling coach Lasith Malinga, as it shows the MI captain pushing the legendary Sri Lankan away, when he came to hug Hardik post match. Skipper didn't seem to be in the mood and pushed aside Malinga after a brief handshake.

In an another video, Hardik forces Sri Lankan pace legend Malinga to leave his chair. During the Mumbai’ chase, Hardik appeared to reach their batting coach Kieron Pollard to chat with him at the dugout. At that point, Malinga, sitting beside Pollard, immediately made the way for MI skipper Hardik so that he could sit at the chair in the dug-out.

Despite the defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Hardik remained optimistic, emphasizing the team's unity and resilience. In the match, SRH's strong batting performance led by Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma resulted in a record-breaking total of 277/3. Despite Mumbai's efforts, they were limited to 246/5, suffering a defeat by 31 runs.
