Bangladesh medium pacer Mustafizur Rahman wants to skip IPL 2021 for national duty.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Bangladesh left arm pacer Mustafizur Rahaman is contemplating skipping the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) to make himself available for national duty. The fast bowler wants to make himself available for the test series against Sri Lanka.

Mustafizur is yet to apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Bangladesh Cricket Board. He needs to obtain a NOC from BCB to take part in the cash rich league. As per reports in Bangladesh media, Bangladesh Cricket Board has no problem in giving Mustafizur the NOC for him to play in the IPL 2021 like Shakib Al Hasan but the medium pacer is yet to apply for the same.

Mustafizur recently said that he is not ready to skip the Test series against Sri Lanka at the expense of IPL. "I will do what BCB asks me to do. If they keep me in Test squad (for the tour of Sri Lanka) then I will play Tests and if they (BCB) don't keep me in Test then they know what I should do,'' Mustafizur told reporters ahead of leaving the country for New Zealand on Tuesday (February 23).

"My first priority is to play for my country and if I am picked in the Test series against Sri Lanka, I will naturally play. If I am not picked then BCB will tell me that I am not included. At that point, if I am given NOC to play in the IPL then I will play but patriotism comes first for me."

Mustafizur was brought by IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals for INR 1 crore during the mini auction held a few days back in Chennai.
