Xtra Time Web Desk: MS Dhoni has regained his six hitting form ahead of Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2021 season opener against Delhi Capitals on April 10 in Mumbai. The CSK talisman was in a blistering mood during the nets, hitting sixes at will. The three times former IPL champions will look up to their inspirational captain to bounce back after the disappointing last season in UAE. The Super Kings failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time.

The franchise in a video uploaded on their social media showed Dhoni whacking sixes all around the park. The instagram post captioned, “Thala Paraak fully loaded! #WhistlePodu #Yellove,”

The Chennai Super Kings captain has hit the most number of sixes in the cash rich league by an Indian batsman. The wicketkeeper batsman from Jharkhand has hit 216 sixes in 204 IPL games. Topping the overall chart is big hitting Caribbean batsman Chris Gayle with 349 sixes.

Last week, batting coach Michael Hussey said CSK is a balanced squad as it has most bases covered to take on teams in the IPL.

CSK picked up six players at the 2021 auction, headlined by off-spin bowling all-rounders Moeen Ali and Krishnappa Gowtham, after buying top-order batsman Robin Uthappa in a trade with Rajasthan Royals.

“I think they are all excellent additions. Moeen is an excellent all-rounder, Robin has a lot of experience and has been a quality performer in the past and Gowtham has some genuine talent that we can look to develop further,” the CSK website quoted Hussey as saying.

“I feel we have a very balanced squad that has most bases covered and with depth in most areas. The guys are in really good spirits and have been and are preparing extremely well,” he added.
