XtraTime Web Desk: A newly looked Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals emphatically by seven wickets to reach the top spot of Indian Premier League season 11 last night. After that emphatic win, KKR head coach Jacques Kallis lauded the win by terming it as an all round effort.

“Good win today, we needed that big performance. This was our first all round game, we batted well, bowled well and fielded well. It’s great to see the guys as everyone contributed on their own way and it’s close to a perfect performance that we can get,” said Kallis.

KKR lost their star opener Chris Lynn on the very first over while chasing a target of 161 runs to win, but the other batsmen played really well and took the team over the line with an ease. According to Kallis the Knights don’t rely on any one or two player to win them a game as everyone in their team are match winners.

“It shows the character of the side. We don’t rely on one or two player to win us games; everyone in the team contributes and can win us a game,” added Kallis.

Kolkata Knight Riders star all-rounder Nitish Rana was Man of the Match in last two games. He took two wickets against Rajasthan Royals and remained not out on 35 as well. Kallis looked really happy with his performance and said it’s good that young guys are playing well and winning MoMs.

“Yes he has been consistent for us and that’s what we want from him. He controlled the innings well which is great to see. I am sure he is learning a lot from the guys around him. And it’s nice to see young guys playing well and winning the Man of the Match Award.”

KKR’s new skipper Dinesh Karthik is leading the side quite well. He played a captain’s knock last night against Royals and remained not out on 42. On being asked about Karthik’s evolution as captain Kallis said,” DK is a very experienced player and with that experience he brings in his captaincy and controls the guys pretty well. Hopefully he will lead the guys well and taking us forward, who knows it could be the year of DK.”
