XtraTime Web Desk: Last night when, Jasprit Bumrah took two back to back wickets of ace all-rounder Yusuf Pathan and Rashid Khan everyone started thinking that SRH won’t be able to chase a modest total of 148 runs to win set by Mumbai Indians, except Deepak Hooda, who played a match-winning knock of 32 runs from just 25 deliveries to take his side home. But those who are thinking he is a one-match wonder, they are very much wrong.
Hooda was a key batsman for Indian U19 side in the year 2014. In that year he debuted in domestic cricket for Baroda and scored a brilliant ton. He became the only second player after Snehal Pradhan to achieve this feat.
After his good show in the domestic season, he was picked by IPL side Rajasthan Royals in the year 2015 where everyone lauded his ability of hitting the ball clean. Next year he got the contract from Sunrises Hyderabad who signed him for a humongous sum of 4.2 crore which was 42 times of his base price of 10 lakh.
Ahead of the ongoing season, Hyderabad again picked him for 3.6 crore rupees during the players auction earlier this year. Many critics started asking that what is the reason for SRH to by Hooda with this amount of money. Chasing a total of 148 runs to win the home side won the game in the last ball, thanks to a brilliant batting by their star opener Shikhar Dhawan and all-rounder Deepak Hooda. Dhawan scored 45 runs in just 28 deliveries before getting out. He hit eight boundaries in this process. Hooda remained not out on 32 runs on just 25 deliveries.
