IPL 2018: A special message for KKR from Mount Everest

XtraTime Web Desk: India is known as a cricket crazy country. Here the legendary cricketers have crazy fans as well. Two-time Indian Premier League Champion Kolkata Knight Riders has a special fan as well. The team has just reached the playoffs last night by beating table toppers SunRisers Hyderabad, and to show them a support West Bengal’s Wangdi Bhutia is all set to hoist the KKR flag on top of Mount Everest.

Bhutia shared his thoughts via a video message from Mount Everest base camp in Nepal, which was later posted on twitter by KKR co-owner and star Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

“I have been a KKR fan ever since the IPL began, and I have secretly dreamed of carrying the flag to the top of Everest. This time, the IPL season coincides with one of my climbs, and I don’t know when I will have a chance like this again. I’ll be able to summit well in time for the IPL final, and I want to see KKR win,” Wangdi said in the video from the Everest base camp in Nepal.

In his tweet, the Bollywood actor also thanked Bhutia for his grand gesture and prayed for his success.

As per reports, this is Bhutia’s third expedition of the highest peak in the World. He has already achieved the feat two times before this. Beside Everest, he has also climbed Mount Manaslu – the world’s eighth highest peak.
