Internet Desk: Chris Lynn is expected to join the KKR camp after recovering from his left shoulder injury which he suffered in the early weeks of IPL 2017. The return of the Aussie international before the knockouts would bring a huge sigh of relief for the KKR team management.

On April 9, Kolkata played against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Batting first they set a target of 179 for the hosts which consisted of a stunning knock from Manish Pandey.

Later Mumbai started off well after lodging a 65 run opening partnership between Parthiv patel and Jos Buttler. It was during this time when Lynn dived to save a sixer hit by Buttler and ended up hurting himself. After immediate medical assistance it was revealed that Lynn had dislocated his left shoulder.

“With the left shoulder out of the joint for about 30 seconds after landing awkwardly from a full-stretch dive, I popped it back in its place,” spoke the Aussie power-hitter spoke, when asked about the incident. “Because I’ve had it a few times now I sort of knew what timeframe I was looking at to get back if there wasn’t too much damage after a scan.”

Having rested for more than three weeks, the 27-year old fiery opener believes that he is ready to return to the nets and help his side in the remainder of the tournament.

“The shoulder is slowly getting there. I had a cortisone injection the other day and it worked really well,” Lynn told cricket.com.au from Kolkata.

Speaking about the upcoming Champions Trophy tournament, he said, “We worked out whatever I could do back home, I can do where I am now in Kolkata. It only makes sense I’m here trying to get fit to play some cricket before heading over to England. There would be nothing worse than going in under prepared to a world tournament.”

Gautam Gambhir led KKR is holding the second spot in the points table and just one win away to qualify for the play-offs. But with Lynn joining their side, the team is expected to get even more strengthened up. The Aussie concluded by saying, “I was going really when I was playing, but it helps the boys are winning, that’s got me through. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel and hope to get back out there sooner rather than later.”
