Apart from the final there will be another keen contest that will take place on field between Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma and Rising Pune Supergiant’s former captain MS Dhoni. Both Rohit and Dhoni have been part of six T20 final wins in their career. Whoever wins on Sunday, will move ahead in the race with seven T20 final wins behind him. Dhoni has successfully led Chennai Super Kings for two IPL and Champions League T20 triumphs apart from winning the inaugural ICC World T20 in 2007 and Asia Cup title. Rohit on the other hand has successfully led Mumbai Indians to two IPL titles in 2013 & 2015. The Mumbaikar also has won the IPL title with Deccan Chargers in 2009. He also won the inaugural ICC World T20 & Asia Cup title under his belt. Rohit has been impressive leading the team to the final. MS Dhoni on the other hand seems to have hit the form at the right time. The stylish right-hander on Friday became the first Mumbai Indians batsman to go past the 3000-run mark. Mumbai Indians on Friday booked a place in Sunday’s final courtesy their six-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Rider’s in the IPL Qualifier 2. Supergiant on the other hand has beaten Rohit Sharma's side on all three occasions this IPL season. It will be an intriguing battle between two of the finest Indian cricketers on Sunday to have their name on the record books.
