Internet Desk: India’s star shuttler Kidambi Srikanth has created history in Jakarta as he wins the Indonesia Open Super Series title today by outrunning Japan’s Kazumasa Sakai in straight game 21-11, 21-19 in just 37 minutes time. It was the first face-off between the two where the world No.22 Indian player outclassed the world No.47 to clinch the second Super Series of his career. It was Kidambi’s fourth Super Series final who had made it to the finals of Singapore Open couple of months back and clinched the China Open Super Series in 2014 and the India Open in 2015.

In the semifinal Srikanth defeated Korea’s world No.1 player Wan Ho in a tough three games battle. The result went in favour of Srikanth with 21-15, 14-21, 24-22. The Indian shuttler had a poor 2-4 win loss record against the Korean player as he lost to the South Korean four times in their last four encounters but Srikanth had the last laugh yesterday as he beat the world No.1 at the Jakarta Convention Center.

In the final Srikanth had won the game pretty easily, but his Japanese rival made a strong come back in the second game to take a big early lead. However, Srikanth fought back well to tie the score on 19-19. After that the Indian shuttler didn’t waste any chances and won the next two points to secure his win in straight games.
