Indian football: The top five transfers of the 2017/18 season so far

I-League 1

Kolkata: Despite the confusion of the future of the footballers in Indian football, the clubs have already started to complete the signing of their top targets for the forthcoming season. Realizing the situation the clubs are emphasizing on recruiting quality foreigners before it gets too late. Here goes the top five signing of this transfer window so far as per www.xtratime.in .

Aser Pierrick Dipanda: Mohammedan Sporting stirred the transfer market before anyone else, as they caught a “big fish”. The black and white brigade completed the signing of Cameroonian Aser Pierrick Dipanda Dicka, the highest goal scorer of the recently concluded I-League 2017 from Shillong Lajong FC. No doubt, this has been the biggest signing of the transfer window so far in this season. Dipanda will make his debut for Mohammedan Sporting in the forthcoming Calcutta Football League.

Eze Kingsley: Mohun Bagan have shrugged off their slow start in the transfer market, signing Nigerian defender Eze Kingsley for the season ahead.

Kingsley, who was a pivotal part of Aizawl FC’s I-League winning squad last season, had earlier played for a number of low-key teams in India, including Police AC, United Sports Club and Peerless. No doubt, the inclusion of Kingsley will bolster their defence.

Mahmoud Al Amna: Al Amna, a seasoned Syrian international, played a pivotal role in Aizawl’s success, after joining the team from Sporting Clube de Goa last summer. Amna had been a regular for the Syria national football team since 2002 to 2011. He made 10 appearances for Syria during the qualifying rounds of the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. No doubt, the signing will solve East Bengal’s trouble in Asian Quota recruitment after a long time.

Ansumana Kromah: Mohun Bagan have signed Liberian midfielder Ansumana Kromah for the upcoming season. He played for Churchill Brothers last season and his joining will surely bolster the Green & Maroon Brigade in the forthcoming season. He scored 6 goals in 13 matches for his side in last season’s I-League and most importantly he had also scored a goal against Mohun Bagan’s arch rival East Bengal at Barasat. In that match Churchill beat the Red and Gold Brigade by 2-1 and he played a vital role for his team’s win. Kromah had scored against current I-League champions Aizawl FC as well but unfortunately Churchill lost that match.

Brandon Vanlalremdika:
Brendon is by far one of the best young left winger that the country currently has at this moment. Brandon was instrumental in Aizawl FC’s success in this year’s I-League and it can be said that this has been a brilliant buy for East Bengal. He played for Aizawal FC throught the whole season and has all the ingredients to become a top quality player. This left-footed winger can tear down the defence of oppositions through his lightning pace and his ability of close control with the ball.
