Indian cricket team’s overseas test performances to be reviewed?

XtraTime Web Desk: The Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators is set to hold a performance review meeting regarding the Indian team ahead of the second test in Hyderabad. If the reports are to be believed India skipper Virat Kohli, vice-captain in Tests Ajinkya Rahane & head coach Ravi Shastri will attend the meeting which will take place on October 10 & 11.

“The CoA will have a discussion with the team management. It’s stock-taking of the team’s tours of South Africa, England and Dubai [for the Asia Cup]. This is a performance analysis meeting of the overseas tours. Captain Virat Kohli, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, head coach Ravi Shastri will be there. Chief selector MSK Prasad, too, will be present,” a source was quoted by Indian Express.

Though Virat Kohli & co. are the No.1 test side in the world but their performance in the overseas tour wasn’t that convincing. In the South Africa tour they lost the three-match test series 2-1 and despite of giving a good fight in England the lost the five-match test series 1-4.

The Indian batting except skipper Virat Kohli faced immense criticism for their poor batting and the CoA had conveyed it’s unhappiness to the team management in England as well. It was surprising that in over 16 Test innings in South Africa and England the Men in Blue could only score more than 300-plus runs just only four times.

This meeting comes at a time when the selectors and the Indian management tries to formulate a strategy before the all-important Australia tour which is slated to be held later this year.
