Internet Desk: India will host the ICC World Cup in 2023 and also are all set to host the next Champions Trophy which is scheduled to be played in 2021 confirmed BCCI after its Special General Meeting today. The cricket crazy nation last hosted the world cup back in 2011 where they won the title at home under Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s leadership after 28 long years.

It has been also confirmed that the two-time world champions will face Afghanistan in who would play their first Test in 2019-20 to become a Test playing nation.

“Afghans were scheduled to play their first Test in 2019 versus Australia but considering the historic relationship between India and Afghanistan, we decided to host their first Test,” said BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary.

As per sources, the BCCI has also taken a decision that India won’t play any match with Pakistan and they are ready for not hosting the Asia Cup to avoid playing their arch-rivals due to the tension between the two countries. Though they will try to play a bilateral series against their arch-rivals if the Indian government allow them to play against them.

Among other decisions taken at the SGM, the suspension of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) was revoked on the condition that former IPL boss Lalit Modi stays away from its functioning.

The BCCI also remained firm on its stance on dope testing of cricketers, saying there was no need for NADA to test the players as the board is WADA compliant.
