Xtra Time Web Desk: The national selection committee led by Chetan Sharma is contemplating resting Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar from the India squad for the upcoming three match ODI series against England starting from March 23. All three cricketers have been continuously in action since the IPL 2020, after which they travelled to Australia and been part of the ongoing series in India. Hence, they will be given a break likely before IPL 2021, slated to commence in April.

Rohit though missed the first three test matches against Australia as he was going through rehab after he picked a hamstring injury while playing in IPL 2020 in UAE.

As per a report in India Express, the players were given the option to rest before the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the T20I series. In fact, the members of the squad were educated about the mental health risks while living in the bio-secure bubble. The workload management also meant that India rested Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj from the T20Is.

The players have been given rest to keep them refreshed as they have been spending most of their recent times in different bio-bubbles in home and away.
