Legendary Sunil Gavaskar has predicted India will make a 4-0 sweep in the upcoming test series against England.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Legendary former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has made a bold prediction that Virat Kohli and his boys will win the upcoming test series against England 4-0. The Indian team reached Southampton on Thursday afternoon and will begin their training at the Ageas Bowl from Sunday. Kohli and his men will kickstart the three and half months long tour to UK with the final of ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand starting from June 18. Team India will next take on England in a five match test series which will start from August 4.

The legendary batsman predicted that India will make a clean sweep of the Test Series.

In an interview to The Telegraph, Gavaskar said, “The Test series against England starts more than six weeks after the WTC final, so the result of that single game will have little or no impact on the India v England series. India will win the series 4-0 since its being played in August-September.”

The Little Master feels Indian pacers will enjoy the conditions in England especially with the Dukes balls. He reckons if England decides to leave grass on the wickets, it can backfire as the current crop of Indian fast bowlers have the ability to exploit any conditions. England made a lot of hue and cry about the turning tracks in India during the recent series against India and hence it won’t be surprising if they leave some grass on the surfaces.

“Having moaned about the pitches in India earlier this year, it won’t be a surprise if the groundsman in England leaves a little grass on the surface. That is no longer a worry as India have an attack that will also thrive on it and cause problems for the England batsmen too,” Gavaskar added.
