India & Pakistan to lock horns against each other in Women’s Asia Cup Final

Internet Desk: Two arch rivals India and Pakistan women team will lock horns again, as they will face each other in Women’s Asia Cup final on Sunday. Both teams have faced each other twice before in this calander year and the result is 1-1.

Sunday will decide who gets the biggest trophy of Asia.

At a time when the fate of bilateral series between the two teams go under major threat due to cross-border issues, these type of matches do come as a huge ray of hope for sports between the two countries. Mithali Raj’s India women team first faced their arch-rivals in the ICC Women’s World T20 this year and the result of the match went in favour of Pakistan as they won the match in Duckworth-Lewis method.

At the end of last month, India faced Pakistan in a group game of Women’s Asia Cup and India women this time equaled the score with Pakistan women team as they won the game in the final over of the match.

India women made it to the final with all win record- 5 wins from 5 games in the competition, while Pakistan women picked up a total of eight points from their five games. Their only loss of the competition came against India.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s India were already through to the final after their victory over Sri Lanka women on December  1, Pakistan women, were confirmed as the other finalist on Saturday, after their five-wicket win over hosts Thailand women.
