Batting first India posted a massive score of 385 runs courtesy centuries from captain Rohit Sharma (101 off 85) and Shubman Gill (112 off 78). Sharma broke his 51 innings ODI century drought as he notched up his first one since January 2020. His knock was studded with 9 fours and 6 sixes. Shubman on the other end continued his purple patch. It was his second hundred in the ongoing ODI series. His 78 ball knock included 13 boundaries and 5 sixes.

Virat Kohli looked got for his 36 runs while Hardik Pandya smashed his way to 38 ball 54. Hardik hit three six and similar number of fours, Shardul Thakur played the long handle for his 17 ball 25.

Chasing 385 runs to win New Zealand were all out for 295 runs in 41.2 overs. Devon Conway top scored for the Kiwis with 138 runs.
