The left arm pacer, now 38 years old last played a T20I match in February against England. The veteran bowler missed the T20I series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka.
Nehra’s selection in the Indian team has evoked the debate as there is so much emphasis on the fitness in the current Indian team. At a time when the emphasis has been on the young, the choice of Nehra has baffled quite a few. With the next World T20 in 2020, Nehra will not be any younger; neither he can proclaim himself to get any fitter. He will be in the 40’s during the time of the next World T 20.
