Kolkata: Indian cricket team would be eyeing to take a 2-0 lead in the five match ODI series when they will face Australia at the Eden Gardens tomorrow. The Men in Blue are highly depending on ace chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav ahead of the second ODI as except Glenn Maxwell no Australian could manage to understand his deliveries. But according to the new spin bowling sensation of Indian cricket, Aussie skipper Steve Smith understands his deliveries really well and he is the batsman who can give him tough times.

“In Tests, I have seen Steve reading the balls well. He knows how to eke out singles. I feel it is tough to bowl to him. Generally, he prefers playing on the leg stump. Whenever he feels, he hits a four and likewise takes a single at will. So I feel it is tough to bowl to him,” said Kuldeep on the eve of the second ODI at the Eden Gardens.

Kuldeep and Chahal both are wrist spinners which is a pretty rare thing in a cricket team. According to Kuldeep it would give the team more chances to take wickets as they both are attacking spinners.

“In cricket two wrist spinners never played together. Whenever I played, I played with a left-arm spinner. In Ranji Trophy, I played with Piyush bhai but not for a long time. Now good experience as we have two wrist spinners in the side. The chances of taking a wicket increases with this. If you have two attacking spinners wickets come more. Left arm spinners don’t have much variations so the batsman won’t take much chances. But a wrist spinner can deceive him, I feel,” added Kuldeep.

Kuldeep feels an all-rounder like Hardik Pandya is always a x-factor for the side as he can change the momentum of the game single handedly at any moment.

“It is very important to have a bowling all-rounder in the side. He can change the game and the momentum of the game. It’s great to have someone like him in the side. He will play for a long time.”

Kuldeep is enjoying his rivalry with the Aussie opener David Warner. He took the crucial wicket of Warner in the 1st ODI at Chennai.

“If you have an upper hand over a batsman, you don’t feel the pressure. I think Warner is under pressure when he is playing me. I feel good when I bowl to Warner. I set up a plan when I bowl to him. Hopefully, I will get him out on more occasions in the next four ODIs.”

Chahal and Kuldeep are playing in the team right now in place of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at the moment. According to Kuldeep it is a huge responsibility for them and the more they will do well now, they will form a partnership for the future in Indian cricket.

“We have a lot of responsibility. We are two young spinners and we can go through spells at times when we won’t be getting wickets. So it’s a good experience also for us because the more we will do well now, we will form a partnership for the future in Indian cricket. We still have lots to learn. We will mature series by series,” concluded Kuldeep.
