Kolkata: After a couple of days of seasonal showers the sun finally showed it’s face today at the Eden Gardens which is ready to host the second match of the five-match ODI series tomorrow.

During the training session today, India skipper Virat Kohli, coach Ravi Shastri and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya the Eden pitch which was under cover for last two days due to heavy rain.

The pitch has a bit grass said Australian captain Steve Smith at the pre-match press conference today.

“(The grass on the wicket) is probably more than I’ve seen in India for a while,” Smith said.

After the the inspection of the Indian cricket team, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President and former India skipper Sourav Ganguly went in the middle to see the surface and talked with the pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee.

“I am satisfied with the wicket. Even if it rains, there won’t be any problem,” Ganguly told reporters on his way back from the centre of the ground.

As per the sources of the CAB, the wicket will just the same as it was during the last Indian Premier League.

“It will be a sporting wicket. There will be something in it for everyone,” a CAB official said.
