Kolkata: The Mohun Bagan Finance Secretary Debasish Dutta is smelling a “conspiracy” against East Bengal and Mohun Bagan as their much anticipated meeting, which was supposed to take place on the 2nd May with AIFF President Praful Patel will now be held on the 4th May at Mumbai.
Incidentally, The AIFF General Secretary Mr.Kushal Das returned today from Portugal and he hardly had any idea about the approach of the Kolkata giants of having a discussion regarding their participation in the ISL. Later, he told www.xtratime.in , “I just returned from Portugal. I have already spoken to Mr.Patel and will have the meeting on the 5th of May instead of 2nd.”
The IMG-R’s proposal was not welcomed by the two historic football clubs and after a series of meeting with the senior Vice-President of the AIFF, it was decided that Mr.Praful Patel will sit with the two Kolkata teams before negotiating the complicated terms and conditions with the IMG-R officials.
Today the Bagan official Debasish Dutta said, “The meeting has been cancelled. The AIFF President said that he is unavailable to sit with us. We were supposed to meet him on 2nd May around 3pm in the afternoon.” He added, “It was also decided that Dr. Pranab Dasgupta and Dr. Shanti Ranjan Dasgupta would represent East Bengal and Srinjoy Bose and myself would represent Mohun Bagan. Mr Subrata Dutta and Kusal Das were also supposed to be there.”
The Bagan official also made one thing clear as he said, “East Bengal and Mohun Bagan will taking all the decisions by discussing with each other. Mr Subrata Dutta is also be there with us.”
