I-League clubs convince The AIFF for an amazing decision to continue the I-League of the forthcoming season during the 2019 AFC Asia Cup, when the club football of all the Asian countries would be off including the Indian Super League, due to international break, I-League CEO Sunando Dhar has told www.xtratime.in .

“There won’t be any break during the I-League. The decision has been mutually agreed between the clubs and the AIFF,” I-League CEO Sunando Dhar told . “The I-League teams will play their matches without their players who will be representing the national team. The entire nation would be focusing on football during that period and the clubs want to cash in to that mood to continue the league.”

Though the majority of players selected to the national team over the last six months ply their trade in the ISL, with only a handful of players from the I-League. National Team Coach Stephen Constantine’s 24-man squad for the Asian Cup qualifier in March had only three I-League players and only four for the Intercontinental Cup.

Sunando Dhar also told XtraTime, “The league will start after the Durga Puja, preferably in the last week of October.”
