Kolkata: Mohun Bagan gets a boost ahead of the Kolkata Derby, as the ban imposed on former Minerva Punjab defender Sukhdev Singh, to get lifted on 11th December and will be available for selection on 16th December in the Kolkata Derby. Though I-League CEO Sunanda Dhar has confirmed www.xtratime.in that the ban hasn’t been reduced at all.
In an interaction with XtraTime.in, Sunanda told, “Sukhdev requested to count the ban from August as the meeting regarding the ban took place on 11th of that month but communicated with him in September. So, AIFF approved that request.”
Sunanda also informed XtraTime that Sukhdev himself requested to reduce the ban and not his club. Mohun Bagan is already in some serious trouble in their defensive organization. Sukhdev’s availability might be a fresh air for coach Shankarlal Chakraborty.
