Kolkata: Kolkata giant East Bengal is holding the third spot in the ongoing I-League 2017-18 season with 26 points in 15 matches. If the Red & Gold Brigade wins their remaining three matches there is high possibility that the I-League will come to the Leslie-Claudius Lane after 14 long years. Khalid brigade will face Chennai City FC in a ‘do or die’ game on February 24 at the Salt Lake Stadium. Ahead of today’s practice session East Bengal coach Khalid Jamil conducted a meeting with the players, where he said to the footballers that the need to play all-out to remain in the hunt of the League.

Though after listening to this the Red & Gold footballers were a bit stunned, as this is the first time in the season that Khalid has told to his footballers to play all out football. To strengthen the attacking force, Khalid today used mid field maestro Mahmoud Al Amna beside his two strikers Dudu Omagbemi and Ansumana Kromah. As per today’s practice, Katsumi Yusa and Cavin Lobo will control the mid field. Though Amna didn’t say anything regarding the strategy of the team but he shared a special message to the supporters.” Me and Katsumi are two senior players of this side and its our duty to take something extra for the side as we have to make a comeback for our supporters. If we win the I-League we can make them smile and we must do everything right in the next game as Chennai is a very good side,” said Amna while talking to the media.

On being asked about the inability of the strikers of scoring goals, Amna added,” We shouldn’t talk about this at the moment. I am hopeful that the strikers will score goals in the remaining three matches, because these matches are nothing but finals for us.”
