Huge blow for East Bengal, AIFF confirms the club cannot sign this new foreigner

Kolkata:
Huge blow for Quess East Bengal as the I-League CEO Sunanda Dhar has confirmed The AIFF that the club won’t be able to sign their star foreigner Katsumi Yusa for the I-League owing to the Transfer Window ban imposed by the All India Football Federation.

In an interaction with www.xtratime.in, Sunanda said, “The two new foreigners Borja and Enrique will be able to sign, but Katsumi won’t as he hasn’t had the registration as yet.”

The club was in a spot of bother after the transfer ban in this season, as the two new foreigners Enrique and Borja are supposed to arrive in a week’s time. But the statement from the I-League CEO has now made it clear that the club won’t have any issue in signing Enrique and Borja Perez. But Katsumi’s unavailability means the club has to play with a foreigner short in this I-League season.

At the same time, Kassim and Amna will be retained despite question marks on their performance level.
