Kolkata: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has decided to specially felicitate Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami for her special achievements in cricket. She would be felicitated on August 8 which happens to be the annual Prize ceremony for CAB at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. The CAB has decided that the two time World Cup finalist Jhulan would be given a prize whose worth is 10 Lakhs or more.

Reportedly a car is to be gifted to Jhulan, however the matter is still under discussion among the officials of the CAB. As a mark of respect an honorary membership is also to be given to her. Not only Jhulan, but other women cricketers who had represented the nation from Bengal would also be given the honorary membership as the decision that was made by the working committee meeting that was held today.

This idea was proposed by joint secretary Subir Ganguly and was passed by CAB President Sourav Ganguly.

The CAB has also decided to felicitate the u19 team from CoachBihar which won the U19 Bengal trophy after 19 years. Manoj Tiwary has also been adjudged the Best Cricketer of the Year while Ahoke Dinda won the Best Bowler of the year.

Due to the sad demise of Aloke Bhattacharya a couple of years back, a spot remained empty for the selector of the senior Bengal squad which will also be filled up by Kalyan Chowdhury. He will join the likes of Debang Gandhi, Arup Bhattacharya and Madon Ghosh. The program would be inaugurated by the chief minister of the state, Mamata Banerjee.
