Hockey World Cup: India’s dream ends in the Quarter Finals

XtraTime Web Desk: India had a great chance to reach the Semi Finals of the Men’s Hockey World Cup after 43 years as The hosts got the lead in the 12 th minute as the Dutch keeper made a save to deny Harmanpreet’s drag flick, but the ball went to Akashdeep Singh on the left. And the India striker made no mistake to score his second goal of the tournament but Netherlands equalised in the last minute of the first quarter as the ball deflected into the net from Dutch striker, Thierry Brinkman.




Netherlands got the lead in the last quarter as Mink van der Weerden converted the PC this time to take the lead from the hosts. Both the teams played really well throughout the game but, Netherlands were the better side to win the Quarter Final. They will face two-time defending champions Australia in the semi-final.
