Heena Sidhu Qualifies For Rio Olympics

New Delhi : Former World No 1 Heena Sidhu became the ninth Indian shooter to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics on the first day of the Asia Olympic Qualifying Competition in New Delhi on Wednesday. 26 year old Sidhu topped the qualification round with a score of 387 before she shot 199.4 in the final to finish with gold medal at the Dr. Karni Singh Range.

The 26-year-old Sidhu finished with a score of 387 that included two consecutive 96’s in the second and third series with a final series  score of 199.4. This is her third Gold medal after her Asian Airgun Championship triumph in September and Asian Shooting Championship victory in Kuwait in November.

The other three qualifiers include Jitu Rai(Men’s 10m Air Pistol), Gurpreet Singh(Men’s 25m Air Pistol) and Prakash Nanjappa (Men’s 50m Air Pistol).
