Xtra Time Web Desk : Wednesday was a indeed a huge day in Indian cricket as the BCCI announced Rohit Sharma as the ODI captain of Team India. The decision came after the board decided not to continue with Virat Kohli as the ODI skipper thus ending his 5 year tenure as Team India's white ball captain after the Test skipper announced his decision to step down from the T20I captaincy role.

And now former Team India coach Ravi Shastri expressed his opinion about this move by BCCI. In a recent interview, the Mumbaikar said, "Rohit is not overawed; he always does what is best for the team. He marshalls all the resources of the team unlike, let's say, in football."

Now, with two different captains in the white ball and red ball format after 2017, it would be very interesting to see how Team India performs. Also, it would be very gripping to see how Kohli, the batsman adapts to this situation. Although it is very important for the 33 year old to stay as a leader in the dressing room.
