Kolkata: After suffering a small injury in the knee and owing to a slight discomfort to walk, he didn’t travel with his team to play the pre-season friendlies. While the team i.e East Bengal was playing against the likes of ISL clubs like Bengaluru FC, Pune City FC and FC Goa, East Bengal skipper Arnab Mondal practiced with the juniors of his team in Kolkata to increase his fitness.

The Kolkata outfits will begin their practice at the club ground from tomorrow and the skipper is also set to join the team since then. The team will be leaving for Jamshedpur on 8th to play against the newly formed team of the ISL Jamshedpur FC on NOvember 10. Despite the fact that the decision of the match to take place will take place tomorrow, Arnab would be happy to play for his side if the coach decided to field him.

“If someone from the team was there then it would have been better to practice however with all of them away I practiced with juniors” said Arnab Mondal. The East Bengal defender is of the opinion that since ISL will be beginning before the I-League it will be a huge bonus for those teams. On the flip side it is also beneficial for their team to check on their team combination.

The trophy inauguration for the I-League could take place on November 11 where the coaches and the skippers need to be present. As of now no such news has reached Arnab regarding this matter and his sole objective is to continue practice with his team.
