Internet Desk: Former world number one German tennis legend Boris Becker will launch a footwear collection named after him in the capital on December 16. Becker will be accompanied by his son in India. This will be the third visit by ‘Boom Boom’ Becker to India.
The German will be relaunching the same Puma trainers that he wore when he won Wimbledon 30 years ago at just 17-years-old
“It is a limited edition shoe launch for the first time in India,” a PUMA press release stated.
On December 17, Becker and his son Noah will head to Kolkata to attend a pre-event press conference for the Tata Steel Kolkata Marathon, which will be flagged off the next day. Former captain of Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly will also be present in this grand occasion.
“I am looking forward to my visit to India to launch my special edition footwear and flagging of TSK 25k 2016 run which is East India’s premier event. Running is a great sport, it s an integral part of any sportsman’s training regime and a most convenient fitness regime to adopt and I am excited to be associated with an event that promotes this sport,” Becker said.
