Gary Kirsten heaps praise on Mahendra Singh Dhoni
XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team’s World Cup winning coach Gary Kirsten thinks that Virat Kohli’s hunger of learning everyday and improving each day makes the Indian captain one of the “greats” of the current set of cricketers. The current batting consultant of Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challenger Bangalore is happy about working with Kohli and thinks that India’s upcoming tour of England will be an exciting battle.
“Kohli is a great player. He continues to improve and get better. I enjoy working with him because he wants to learn about his game and all great players do that,” the former South African opener told reporters on Thursday.
“India-England series will be a competitive series, it will be a good series. It will be great fun watching the battle between two great sides,” he added.
Former India skipper MS Dhoni is batting really well in this season’s Indian Premier League and Kirsten feels that Dhoni has gone back to his incredible consistent best.
“He just keeps producing and his hunger for performance is amazing. I don’t think he has reinvented anything, he has just got back at his incredible consistent best,” said Kirsten.
On being asked whether Dhoni can win another World Cup in 2019, Kirsten added,”Lots of teams have a chance including India, so it will be an exciting tournament.”
